FYI

I caught this link on a post from Edward Tufte's discussion board labeled

Data displays for self-awareness:

The personal analytics of Stephen Wolfram's life

http://blog.stephenwolfram.com/2012/03/the-personal-analytics-of-my-life/

Stephen Wolfram recently published an analysis of personal data he has collected since 1989, on emails sent and received, keystrokes, calendar event times, phone call times and durations, walking steps taken, and type of file modified, all versus hour of the day. There is also a graph of book chapters modified over time, apparently with intensity of color showing completeness of change.

David, we have a bit in common -- I use the Concept
2 logbook to track and rank my meters. Just today I did the half marathon- 21,097 meters.

In fact, I found you here a few days ago when I was doing a Google search f.or "half marathon strategy".

I've also dropped 50 lbs by meticulous tracking and lots of rowing.

I'm new to the sport, but thanks to age handicapping, I have two CRASH-B medals (2011 silver, 2012 bronze for Veteran Women 65-69) and ranked second today on Concept2 half marathon ranking.

I agree with you --it's insane what we'll do for the right to buy the shirt and print out the certificate.

I row at Princeton with Carnegie Lake Rowing Association, but I've been lucky enough to row HOCR the past four years. I'm hoping to get a1x or 2x draw this year.

If you find yourself in Princeton, be my guest at practice on legendary Carnegie Lake.

Wow! I"m impressed on the one hand but concerned on the other. If it were anyone else but you David, I would suggest you get a hobby. This navel-gazing can go too far -- this from an overweight, out-of-shape old geezer. There, I've said it.
