The Darkness
Lights are on three houses away but I’m in a pocket of darkness and have been since Friday night. Candles, radio, a bottle of Talisker and a Kindle to keep me company.
It’s not so bad. But I would prefer lights.

Sorry about that – what a drag. Have you thought about getting a generator given general unreliability of ‘lectric service on the Cape? We have a friend who got one and since he has street connection to gas, he’s well lit even in the storms. We don’t have that option, sadly.
